Interview Assignment

Ghaith is a 35 year old man. He is Lebanese and speaks many languages, like: English, Arabic, French, African and a maybe even more. He has spent most of his years working as a car dealer. Ghaith helps customers make informed decisions when buying new or used vehicles. By asking the right questions and providing the right answers, he is able to assess his clients’ needs and steer them towards the vehicles that best meet their needs.

Ghaith is a very experienced car dealer and has made many big sales and many small ones as well. He is very well known and helpful to his family and to his close friends. Ghaith claims all of his vehicles from auctions all over the world. Being a car dealer, dealers some times need to travel to different countries, and Ghaith is a big traveler, he has been to many different countries and has experienced a lot from his career. Africa is the most commonly visited by Ghaith, which is where he makes most of his sales, and buys cars as well.

Q: what is it that you like most about your career as a car dealer?

A: I’ve always enjoyed being around cars, and the best aspect is actually working hands-on, on vehicles that I know that I’m going to like. The most fun part of my job is taking new cars on test drives.
I also like my freedom; the freedom of setting my own hours; the freedom of controlling my own income; the freedom of doing what I want to do with a set of rules that are applied by the dealership.

Q: Your career requires you to travel to different countries some times how do you feel about that?

A: Well it’s not really a problem for me, I actually like to travel, and I’ve been traveling for a long time and I’m used to it. I don’t like to stay in one place for a while, I like to keep moving.

Q: What is so special in Africa or about Africa that you choose to visit it constantly and not any other country?

A: The reason I visit Africa so much is because first of all, I grew up there and I have some family there. Second of all, cars are very easily sold in Africa at very decent prices. I buy the cars needed and ship them to Africa where there I sell them to their costumers. I also have a couple of friends that help me find costumers and help me make my sales very quickly.

Q: If Africa is the place to sell your vehicles then where do you buy your vehicles?

A: I usually get most of my cars from here, Canada, there are auctions goin around all over the place, and I always tend to get my hand on something big here and there.

Q: What is the biggest challenge that you have to face everyday as a car dealer?

A: The most challenging aspect about being a car dealer is knowing everything you have to know about the cars. If you don’t know everything, customers won’t trust you. You also must have patience. Many customers that are in search for a new car feel frustrated.

Q: What are your hobbies during your spare time away from work?

A: I like to spend time with my family and visit my friends; I’m not a sports guy but I’ll play depending on the sport. I’ll play soccer and maybe basketball and that’s about it. But mostly I just like to get together with my buddies and play cards and just have fun.

Q: What is you favourite type of car?

A: My favourite type of car? Well I really like the porch vehicles but I haven’t run across many in my career, but I do own a Toyota Mr2 Spider witch it very similar to the porch and I enjoy that very much.

Q: Alright Ghaith thank you for your time, is there anything that you would like to add? Any advice?

A: All I have to say is make sure you believe in the vehicles you’re representing.

Ghaith is very happy about his career and is also very good at it, he enjoys being around cars and working with them, and that really helps him get through all the challenges that he faces everyday. He is Lebanese, but he grew up in Africa, and knows over five languages witch can really help him in his career. He can communicate with many different people especially in Africa, most of his sales are from Africa and that is really fortunate because he knows their language and he can communicate with them and that really helps with his sales.
